Fabric Collage Portraits: Making the Image I Couldn't Find

with Makeisha Phillips

$155

Fabric becomes paint and scissors become the brush in this unique portrait-making workshop. Participants will transform a family photograph or other meaningful image into a vivid, layered fabric collage using fabric scraps and glue—no drawing or sewing experience required.

Learn how to read an image, choose fabric as a color palette, cut and compose shapes, build layers, and create a finished portrait with depth, pattern, and texture. Participants may also incorporate fabric with personal meaning, such as a piece of clothing or a cherished textile.

Open to adults and teens 14+, from complete beginners to experienced quilters, collage artists, and mixed-media artists. Participants may bring a meaningful photograph or use a selection of public-domain images provided in class.

Two 3-hour sessions, one week apart. Class size: 10–14 participants.

Members receive 10% off with promo code MEMBER

Payment plan available: $50 deposit plus 4 payments of $26.25, paid every four weeks.
